For those wearing dresses these should be full length (below the knee at a push) and formal, for those wearing suits it's time to bring out those fabulous bow ties. Kilts are enthusiastically encouraged - we are going to be having a ceilidh after all!
The wedding ceremony itself will be held in St Palladius Church which despite being beautiful is a historic building and as such isn't the warmest; for the reception we will be in the castle with the fires on. Please bear this in mind when picking your outfit.
Go for it! We're partying in a castle - dress for it. Have a ballgown you never get to wear? We'd love to see you in it! Traditional dress you rarely have occasion for? Go all out.
Please do not wear white as you will be asked to change.
Any questions please contact us.
We will be hosting a ceilidh as part of our wedding reception. There is no expectation to know any of the dances ahead of time (half the fun is getting the steps wrong!) as they will be called (explained step by step) on the night.
For those of you who have not danced a ceilidh before it might be a good idea to bring a pair of flat shoes or heels you know you can dance in.
